In the boys’ Valencia tournament final:

El Modena 62, Troy 60--Guard Erik Erickson made a half-court shot at the buzzer as El Modena won the title with its only three-point field goal of the game.

Troy’s Matt Cardillo had scored with 39 seconds left to give Troy a 60-58 lead. El Modena’s Jon Leedon then made one of two free throws to pull El Modena within 60-59 with 27 seconds to play.

After several changes of possession, Troy missed the front end of two consecutive one-and-ones, the second with three seconds left, setting El Modena up for Erickson’s shot.

Gavin Brown and Leedon each scored 12 points for El Modena, while Randy Abbott led Troy with 24 points, including four three-pointers.
