Two people were killed by gunfire Saturday afternoon in a shooting at a vacant house in Lynwood, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Sheriff’s spokesman Rich Erickson said deputies were called to the house on El Granada Avenue after neighbors reported hearing gunfire about 4:30 p.m. When they arrived, he said, deputies found the body of an unidentified woman inside the house and a mortally wounded man outside.
The 38-year-old man, whose identity was not released, died of his wounds about 6:20 p.m. during surgery at Martin Luther King Jr.--Drew Medical Center.
Erickson said the deaths did not appear to be a murder-suicide. The woman’s identity was not immediately unknown.
