COMMUNITY COLLEGE WOMEN’S BASKETBALL : Fullerton Downs Orange Coast After Overcoming Slow Start

Fullerton College trailed by 14 points early but rallied for a 64-57 victory over Orange Coast in an Orange Empire Conference women’s basketball game Friday at Fullerton.
Orange Coast (13-9, 0-3 in conference) opened up an 18-4 lead, but Fullerton outscored the Pirates, 21-6, the rest of the half and led, 25-24, at the break. Fullerton never trailed in the second half.
Holly Keeton scored 22 points and had a career-high 21 rebounds for Fullerton (9-10, 2-2). Sig Lo had 19 points, including a career-high five three-pointers for Fullerton.
Stacey Giem had 21 points, including five three-pointers, for OCC. Colleen Hatch had 14 points for OCC.
In another Orange Empire Conference women’s game:
Saddleback 83, Riverside 48--Riverside figured to provide a test for host Saddleback, but the Gauchos (20-3, 3-0) had little trouble. Sophomore center Erin Schimeneck had 19 points, 14 rebounds and six blocked shots for Saddleback.
Carrie Burt and Shelley Calhoun each had 14 points and Stefanie Moorman had 13 for Saddleback, which was up at the half, 42-24. Riverside is 13-7, 1-1.
