CAMARILLO : Man, 73, Apparently Drowns in Jacuzzi

A 73-year-old Camarillo man apparently drowned Monday in an outdoor Jacuzzi at his housing complex, authorities said.
Matthew Kinney was discovered floating in the spa by a neighbor in the Mission Verde community. Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy Craig Stevens estimated that Kinney had been underwater for at least 30 minutes before paramedics arrived.
On a previous occasion, a security guard rescued Kinney from the spa after Kinney suffered a diabetic seizure and collapsed into the water, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.
Stevens said an autopsy will be performed today to determine whether a similar medical incident contributed to Kinney’s death.
