LeVar Burton’s Career

Obviously “Roots” producer Stan Margulies has never sat with a room full of children and watched “Reading Rainbow” (“Touching a Nation’s Soul,” Jan. 18). LeVar Burton does have an incredible career--his work is enjoyed by many, many children, parents and educators. Apparently, the role of an excellent teacher in an innovative, educational television program is undervalued and underappreciated. Burton may have once touched the soul of a nation, but daily he touches the minds of our nation’s future.
