Better Late Than Never: Twin sisters who are hot property in Japanese show business via a successful TV commercial are about to make their recording debut in Tokyo--at age 100. Kin Narita and her twin Gin Kanie, who will be 101 on Aug. 1, are going to record some songs with children for a compact disc. The sisters, born in 1891 in Nagoya, central Japan, and now living separately there, have a total of 10 children, 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. It’s not known if they will be the oldest artists ever to launch a recording career. That category is not listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
