FOUNTAIN VALLEY — A 20-year-old man was shot once in the right leg Sunday night as a drive-by gunman fired five bullets at him as he stood in the 10300 block of Avenida Cinco de Mayo, police reported.
The shooting apparently stemmed from a dispute, officers said. The victim, Tony Mendoza of Fountain Valley, was treated and released at Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, Police Sgt. Kevin Thomas said. Thomas said a search was underway for the alleged gunman, Demetril Curiel, 26, of the Huntington Beach area.
