Tanzanian Airline in Financial Crisis: Air Tanzania has been suspended by the International Air Transport Assn. because of financial problems, officials said. They said the state-owned airline’s accounts abroad were frozen and members of IATA, a voluntary association of airline companies, would not honor its tickets. Air Tanzania recently canceled services to Europe when Ethiopian Airlines repossessed a leased Boeing 767 for failure to maintain payments.
