Woman May Be Suicide Victim

A Van Nuys woman whose charred body was found on a desolate stretch of mountain road near Castaic appeared to have committed suicide, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said Sunday.
The 30-year-old woman, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, was found Saturday lying next to her car in the 35300 block of Ridge Route Road, Deputy Irma Becerra said.
Investigators found two notes at the woman’s home and evidence at the scene leading them to believe that she set herself ablaze, Becerra said. Becerra said the notes described problems with the woman’s marriage.
