SANTA ANA : Coroner ID’s Man Shot in December

The county coroner’s office has identified a man fatally shot here in December as Fabian Medrano, 24, of Santa Ana.
Authorities on Friday were trying to locate family members of Medrano, also known as Jorge Albert Medina. Medrano died of a gunshot wound to the head on Dec. 22 at a gas station at 302 W. 1st St., police said.
Medrano bought beer at a convenience store at West 1st Street and Broadway, and apparently got into an altercation after leaving the store with two men who took his beer from him, police said.
Medrano reportedly returned to the store with a handgun and one of the two men shot and killed him with a shotgun. Police arrested two men in connection with the killing.
