These comments relate to the “For Rent” article which appeared in the Real Estate Section on March 22.
We operate rental housing in the Hollywood and Mid-Wilshire areas and our current vacancy rate is 11%. It has previously been as high as 15%-17%. I know of other owners who are currently experiencing 15%-20% vacancy rates. The figure quoted of 6.6% is unrealistically low and 5.8% last year is a figment of someone’s imagination.
