Porsche Fixing Cruise Control on Some 968 Models: Porsche Cars North America Inc. said it will recall 854 of its 1992-model 968 cars to correct a potential problem with the mechanism. Routine testing showed that on certain cars, part of the cruise control system may contact the rear engine compartment cover, Porsche said. That could prevent the engine from returning to idle when the cruise control is disengaged. Owners will be notified by mail and asked to have their vehicles checked by their dealer, Porsche said in a statement from its Reno office.
