SOUTHERN SECTION BOYS’ TENNIS PLAYOFFS : Unbeaten Esperanza Is Awarded No. 2 Seeding

Undefeated Esperanza is the highest-seeded Orange County team in the Southern Section boys’ tennis playoffs, which begin Friday.
The Empire League champion Aztecs (20-0) are the No. 2-seeded team in Division 3-A and will play host to the winner of Friday’s Montebello Schurr-Downey Warren wild-card match in Tuesday’s first round. Sunny Hills received the No. 3 seeding in 3-A and will play host to Corona Centennial in the first round.
San Marino is the top-seeded team in 3-A.
In 4-A, Sea View League champion University (16-2) is the No. 3-seeded team and plays host to Mater Dei in the first round. Fourth-seeded Corona del Mar meets Huntington Beach in Tuesday’s first round.
Other No. 1 seeds are four-time defending champion Santa Barbara in 4-A, Harvard-Westlake in 2-A and Pasadena Poly in 1-A.
Championship matches in all divisions will be June 3 at various sites.

Division 4-A--Thousand Oaks at Santa Barbara, Santa Monica at Long Beach Wilson, Fountain Valley at Santa Margarita, El Toro at Foothill, Villa Park at San Clemente, Beverly Hills at Hacienda Heights Wilson, Goleta San Marcos at Westlake Village Westlake, Huntington Beach at Corona del Mar, Mater Dei at University, Dana Hills at Long Beach Millikan, Lakewood at Marina, Servite at Mission Viejo, Woodbridge at Canyon, Camarillo at Diamond Bar, Agoura at Oxnard Rio Mesa, La Puente Nogales at Palos Verdes Peninsula.
Division 3-A--Sonora-Loara winner at San Marino, Trabuco Hills at Corona, West Torrance-Los Alamitos winner at La Quinta, Glendale-Fullerton winner at Burbank, Corona Centennial at Sunny Hills, La Canada-Garden Grove winner at Laguna Beach, Los Amigos-Laguna Hills winner at Gahr, Downey Warren-Montebello Schurr winner at Esperanza.
Division 2-A--Western at San Dimas, La Serna at Valencia, Magnolia at Walnut.
Division 1-A--Brethren Christian at Sherman Oaks Buckley.
