A Westlake pediatrician has pleaded not guilty to charges that he molested and fondled five female patients.
Stuart M. Berlin entered the pleas at his arraignment Thursday in Ventura County Municipal Court, Deputy Dist. Atty. William G. Karr said.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 25.
Berlin was charged with six misdemeanor counts of sexual battery involving four adult women and one felony count of molesting a 13-year-old girl during medical examinations at his Westlake office or in their homes.
The alleged offenses included fondling his patients’ breasts, Karr said.
Berlin is also charged with one misdemeanor count of sexual battery involving a Los Angeles County woman.
He also pleaded not guilty to that charge and is scheduled to appear for trial on July 1 in Malibu, his attorney, Dean R. Gits, said.
“He is maintaining his innocence,” Gits said. “We intend to fight it all the way.”
