A comprehensive, multicultural legal assistance office has opened to provide services to people needing free legal advice as the result of the civil unrest.
Almost 1,000 attorneys are volunteering their time to Public Counsel’s Urban Recovery Legal Assistance Project, open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 3780 Wilshire Blvd. Those seeking legal assistance will be referred by other agencies or may call directly: (213) 368-1250.
The project is a service of Public Counsel in conjunction with community bar associations participating in the Multi-Cultural Bar Alliance, including: Black Women Lawyers, Japanese American Bar Assn. and Southern California Chinese Lawyers Assn.
