Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Crash

WESTMINSTER — A motorcyclist was critically injured Sunday evening after running a red light and broadsiding a Cadillac at the intersection of Edwards Street and Bolsa Avenue.
Ray Jack Aldridge Jr., 40, of Westminster, was taken to UCI Medical Center, where he was reported in critical condition with multiple fractures and possible internal injuries. The driver of the Cadillac, Madeline Marconi, 70, of Midway City, reported neck and back pain and was not hospitalized.
According to police, Aldridge--who was wearing a helmet--was believed to be intoxicated and traveling faster than 70 miles per hour when he ran the red light.
He has been charged with misdemeanor drunk driving, according to Sgt. Tom Broderson of the Westminster Police Department.
