FRIENDLY SKIES? America West, fighting bankruptcy, is scheduled to close its exclusive members-only Phoenix Club lounge at John Wayne Airport on Sept. 9. But club members may be saved--if they do business with another airline. United is now talking about leasing the space. . . . American Airlines’ Admiral’s Club is the only similar facility at John Wayne. The clubs have fax machines, computers, telephones and cold drinks for busy travelers.
