Bush on Tax Cuts and Regulations
Hurrah for President Bush’s stand on behalf of small business (Aug. 21). As a small businesswoman, it was good to hear the President voice an opinion of less government regulation for small businesses. Certainly this can be achieved and yet guarantee both workers and employers protection of the law.
The President’s suggestion of capital gains tax reduction seems reasonable. Perhaps this could be supplemented with increased limits on charitable and environmental protection research contributions, and especially increased tax relief for on-the-job-training in both general business and defense programs.
Now I’m counting on Bush’s positive rhetoric to be backed up by the affirmative actions of Congress.
