Wade McGuire of Georgia, the nation’s top-ranked college men’s tennis player, was declared academically ineligible and will skip the fall season.
McGuire, a senior who lost to Stanford’s Alex O’Brien in the singles final of the 1991 NCAA tournament, will be allowed to play during the spring season if he regains eligibility.
