High in Denver

In the Sept. 20 story, “Denver Blends Old and New Wests,” the “mile high” altitude in Denver should have been mentioned. While touring the city, we wondered why we were puffing, nauseated, dizzy and downright uncomfortable. Tourists need to be acclimated slowly before going sightseeing, especially when coming from Southern California, which is at sea level.
