San Diego police on Sunday reported the seventh carjacking of the weekend, when a man grabbed a woman by the throat and stole her car while she was pumping gas at the Texaco Food Mart at 7737 Balboa Ave.
The unidentified victim was pumping gas into her 1989 Mercury Tracer when the man grabbed her by the throat and pushed her away from the car. An employee of the business said the man had earlier attempted to steal another car but that the driver, also a woman, locked the doors.
Police said the man was last seen driving east on Balboa Avenue.
Between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning, San Diego police said, carjackers seized six vehicles.
An attempted carjacking Saturday night ended in the death of the carjacker. Police said a man sitting inside a car with a woman at a Mission Valley parking lot stabbed one of three assailants to death when the man attempted to steal the car.
