EC to Extend Textiles Pact With Colony: The European Community agreed to extend a textiles trade agreement with Hong Kong another two to three years, largely on existing terms, the government announced. One major change in the agreement was abolishment of the EC’s longstanding practice of breaking down its quota restrictions into regional limits. The current agreement expires Dec. 31 and will initially be extended to Dec. 31, 1994, and unless either party objects, for another year after that. Hong Kong’s deputy director general of trade, Alan Lai, said the agreement should give Hong Kong textile exporters greater access to the EC.
