North Hollywood Youth Shot Dead

A 17-year-old reputed gang member was fatally shot outside his North Hollywood apartment early Sunday, Los Angeles police said.
Carlos Arias was discovered about 12:40 a.m. lying on the threshold of his apartment on Laurel Canyon Boulevard, near Valerio Street, Sgt. Ike Langsam said. The youth had been shot several times in the upper body and died at the scene.
No arrests have been made and a motive has not been determined, Langsam said.
