Coach: Bob Pacieznik (second year).
*
1991-92: 16-7-3, 5-4-3 in the Sunset League; lost to Damien in 4-A semifinals.
*
Key returners: Armando Hernandez, Sr. midfielder, All-Southern Section as a sophomore; Israel Jimenez, Jr., fullback; Antonio Lagunas, Jr. fullback; Jorge Perez, Sr., midfielder, three-year starter; Hugo Ramirez, Jr., midfielder, first-team all-league.
*
Key newcomers: Ismael Antunez, Fr., goalkeeper; Diego Cervantes, Fr. fullback; Oscar Hernandez, So., forward; Candido Lopez, So., forward; Jesse Lopez, Fr., fullback.
*
Outlook: The Saints probably will start three freshmen, two on defense and one in goal. The nonleague season will be a frustrating learning experience. Fortunately, the Saints have plenty of offense, which will provide some balance until the younger players adjust to the varsity level. “We did score a lot during the summer, so that’s a good indicator,” Pacieznik said. Hernandez and Perez were on the 4-A championship team in 1990.
