A semi-trailer jackknifed on the Golden State Freeway near Santa Clarita on Monday, pinning a pickup truck against the center divider, authorities said.
Patrick Connors, 35, of Fairfield was driving south in the semi when he tried to slow for traffic stopped ahead, California Highway Patrol Officer John Manduca said.
Connors braked quickly and lost control of the truck, which jackknifed across all four southbound lanes of the highway. The truck continued to slide because of the rain, Manduca said.
The semi pushed a pickup truck driven by Chauncey Donahue, 54, of Grants Pass, Ore., against the center divider. Donahue had to be pried out of the truck by authorities, Manduca said. No one was injured in the accident, Manduca said.
