PLACENTIA : City Hall Now Open an Extra Hour Daily
- Share via
Residents will have an extra hour each day to conduct business at City Hall. Beginning this week, City Hall is opening 30 minutes earlier, at 7:30 a.m., and closing 30 minutes later, at 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
All offices will be open and staffed, and residents will be able to conduct the full range of city business.
The change is a result of a new work schedule adopted by city employees, who will work a combination of nine-hour, five-day work weeks and nine-hour, four-day work weeks, for a total of 80 hours every two weeks.
In addition to City Hall employees, the new schedule was adopted by maintenance employees. Police Department employees already have four-day schedules.
According to Assistant City Administrator Jack Slota, the schedule will have no financial impact. It was adopted both to help the city meet employee traffic reduction goals set by the South Coast Air Quality Management District and to offer extended service hours.
The schedule is being implemented on a six-month trial basis.
