Nation IN BRIEF : NEW YORK : ‘Crazy Eddie’ Lands in U.S., Faces Trial

Eddie Antar, founder of the defunct New York electronics retailing firm Crazy Eddie Inc., arrived in New York after being extradited from Israel to face racketeering conspiracy charges. The heavily guarded Antar was taken from Kennedy Airport to a federal court in Newark, N.J., for processing. Antar, 44, is charged with making more than $74 million by selling Crazy Eddie stock at artificially high prices. Israeli police arrested Antar in June.
