Harrick Under Fire: Critics Cite Loss to Cal, Others See Big Picture
- Share via
As a UCLA alum, I think Jim Harrick has done a fine job as the Bruin basketball coach. In his first four years, he has done better than Coach Wooden did in his first four years. It took Coach Wooden 16 years to win the NCAA title. Let’s give Coach Harrick the same chance.
Harrick should not be blamed for the Cal loss. Hyped up by the death of one of the player’s fathers, Cal played way over its head. Cal could have beaten any team in the country last Sunday, including the Chicago Bulls.
UCLA should give Coach Harrick an immediate contract extension. Peter Dalis’ dallying and fans carping is really hurting Bruin basketball and its recruiting. If every Bruin would support Harrick and the team, we would win the NCAA again a lot sooner.
