MOONING OVER HAVANA

Does every reporter go soft in head when they get off the plane in Havana? (“Fade-Out in Havana,” by Tom Miller, Dec. 20). The rosy nostalgia and unashamed simpatico are drivel. Fidel Castro is a megalomaniac tyrant in the grand tradition.
I found Miller’s musing about Castro’s possible Sephardic ancestry in the worst taste. Fidel’s treatment of Cuba’s Jews is hardly something to get warm and fuzzy over. He expropriated their property and packed them into exile. The few remaining have not been treated well. What is it with you guys that you still get taken in by Latin America’s senior dictator?
