SACRAMENTO — In the first such hearing of its kind in the state Legislature, Californians will be able to testify this afternoon by toll-free telephone call about “pay at the pump” auto insurance.
The hearing of the Senate Insurance Committee will be broadcast from 1 to 4 p.m. on the California Channel, which is available on some cable systems.
During the final hour, from 3 to 4 p.m., Californians can talk about the proposal by calling the committee at (800) 773-2568.
For viewers on the Westside and the San Fernando Valley, the hearing will be carried by the Century, United Artists and Cencom systems. Continental, the largest cable operator in Los Angeles, does not carry the California Channel.
The hearing also will be broadcast in Orange by Dimension, in San Diego by Cox Cable, in Ventura County by Avenue TV Cable and in Palm Springs by Warner.
