HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Brock Jacobsen Takes Spotlight in Crescenta Valley’s 63-58 Victory

Adam Jacobsen of Crescenta Valley High, the most prolific three-point shooter in Southern Section history, was held in check, but brother Brock came through in the clutch Tuesday to lead the Falcons to a 63-58 Pacific League victory over visiting Glendale.
Brock Jacobsen, a 6-foot-3 sophomore, scored only six points, but his jump shot with two minutes to play gave Crescenta Valley (17-3, 5-2 in league play) the lead for good, 56-55. Moments later, he added two free throws to increase the Falcons’ lead to 58-55.
Adam Jacobsen, a 6-2 senior averaging 27.5 points a game, was held to a season-low 18 points, including two three-point baskets in seven attempts.
St. Francis 65, Bishop Amat 46--Dave Craig scored 25 points, and Jason Prewett had eight points and six steals for host St. Francis (13-8, 8-1) in a Del Rey League game.
GIRLS
Bell-Jeff 68, St. Mary’s 55--The host Guards posted their 17th consecutive victory in Camino Real League play.
Cathy Flores led the Guards (21-2, 9-0) with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Christina Ticsay had 20 points. Lori Talley added 15 points, nine rebounds, five assists, five blocked shots and four steals.
