CALABASAS : Robber Sentenced to ‘Boot Camp’

A man who robbed a Thousand Oaks bank last summer is one of the first convicts to be sentenced to a new federal boot camp-style prison program, FBI officials said.
Jeffrey Dean Galleher, 23, of Calabasas was sentenced this week by a federal judge in Los Angeles to 2 1/2 years in prison for robbing $45,000 from a Bank of America branch in Thousand Oaks last June.
Under a new federal program designed for first-time offenders, Galleher will be confined in a “military boot camp situation,” said Gary Auer, special agent for the FBI in Ventura.
