LAGUNA BEACH — About 3,000 customers lost electrical power Saturday night after a transformer failed, authorities said.
Power was cut off about 8:10 p.m. and was restored half an hour later, said Steven Nelson, the district manager for Laguna Beach with Southern California Edison. People along Laguna Canyon Road were affected, he said.
Nelson said crews replaced the transformer, but it was not immediately clear why the electrical equipment had failed. Nelson said there have been no recent power failures or transformer problems in thet area.
Transformers help convert electrical voltage for use in homes, Nelson said.
