Baja Advice

We share Christopher Reynolds’ opinion (“Baja’s Secret Shores,” Feb. 7) of the La Concha Beach Resort in La Paz, where we spent four nights, and his lack of regard for the Stouffer Presidente Loreto, where we had a bad lunch served by indifferent waiters. In Loreto we stayed at the La Pinta for a total of three nights. The rooms were in fair condition (busted screens, burned out light bulbs). However, dining room food was good and staff pleasant and helpful.
Since collecting sea shells is our hobby we used “Hidden Mexico, Adventurer’s Guide to the Beaches and Coasts” by Rebecca Bruns (Ulysses Press) to find off-the-beaten path beaches which were still within reach of our sedan.
