Social Security Tax Increase

After the President’s speech (Feb. 17), I ran a survey of friends, relatives and neighbors (52 people), because never in my 60-plus years has any “survey” been asked of me. The question asked was “Are you thrilled by the patriotic prospect of having to pay more taxes?” The results were: 43 said no; eight said maybe if they knew it would really help in deficit reduction; one individual was so incensed that he questioned my state of mind, so I would take that for another no, and a realistic poll!
