PREP ROUNDUP : Western’s Woods Shoots 32, but Valencia Wins in Golf

Tiger Woods of Western High School was the medalist with a three-under 32, but Valencia won, 192-217, in an Orange League golf match Monday at Cypress Golf Club.
John Lee, a sophomore shot 34 for Valencia, which improves to 4-1, 1-0 in league play.
In Century League golf:
El Modena 180, Villa Park 210--Brian Madden shot a one-over 33 at Riverview for host El Modena (3-3, 1-0).
In nonleague golf:
Newport Harbor 205, La Quinta 246--Morgan Anderson shot a three-over 39 for Newport Harbor at Mile Square Park.
Pacifica 196, Magnolia 258--Randy Davis shot a two-over 27 for Pacifica at Dad Miller.
Servite 197, Cerritos Gahr 204--Mike Lauder shot a three-over 38 at La Mirada for Servite (7-1).
Sunny Hills 192, La Mirada 232--Steven Sugarman shot a two-over 37 for visiting Sunny Hills (8-2-1) at La Mirada.
Trabuco Hills 200, Tustin 255--Zachary Allen shot a two-over 38 and Kevin Rodgers and Justin Grandy each shot 39 for Trabuco Hills at Tustin Ranch.
In Garden Grove League softball:
Kennedy 10, Los Amigos 1--Lana Jimenez and Joy Hannifin each had three hits and scored three runs for visiting Kennedy (6-1, 1-0).
Pacifica 6, Bolsa Grande 1--Susan Denny homered in a losing effort at Bolsa Grande.
Garden Grove 1, Rancho Alamitos 0--Duffy White (4-2) pitched a four-hitter with four strikeouts and scored the winning run for host Garden Grove (6-2, 1-0).
In nonleague softball:
Orange 12, Saddleback 0 (5, mercy)--Lindsay Huebner pitched a no-hitter and Denise Gallegos had two hits, three runs scored and two RBIs for visiting Orange (6-2).
In nonleague boys’ tennis:
Laguna Beach 11, El Toro 7--Julian Zajfen swept at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-0, 6-1, for host Laguna Beach (4-3).
