$30,000 for College Junior

Rosario Gutierrez, a junior at Occidental College, was awarded a $30,000 Harry S. Truman scholarship for undergraduate and graduate study in preparation for a career in public service.
The American studies major, who plans a career in education, is one of 80 recipients across the country who prepared comprehensive statements and policy analyses in the national competition among more than 950 college juniors.
