Mark Rayner, who won the national Golden Gloves heavyweight title in 1992, was shot to death in Detroit while fleeing from an attempted carjackjing. Rayner, 23, of Southfield, Mich., was shot late Sunday near a gas station on the city’s northeast side.
Rayner had been scheduled to make his professional debut next month.
