Casinos to Build Monorail: Two Las Vegas casinos said they plan to build a $15-million monorail that will link both gambling complexes. The MGM Grand Hotel Casino & Theme Park, which is still under construction, and Bally’s Las Vegas said they hope the mile-long monorail will reduce traffic congestion and become the first segment of a larger transit system connecting the Las Vegas Strip, downtown, convention center and airport. The two casinos still need government permission to build the electric-powered monorail, which would take 15 months to build.
