U.S. Intervention in Bosnia

I cannot help but be puzzled at the logic of Col. Harry Summers’ argument in his article “Air-Strike Option Would Put America in Harm’s Way” (Commentary, April 21).
Precisely by listening to such views we have now escalated, not defused, the lopsided conflict in Bosnia. It is now, of course, more difficult to halt the carnage, because we did not listen to our conscience and did nothing to stop the senseless killing earlier.
By further delaying and allowing this lopsided embargo and conflict to continue, we are instrumental in facilitating, not preventing, the ongoing ethnic cleansing.
