OUTLOOK
Bolsa Grande hasn’t won more than one league game since 1990, but with some other teams down, this could be the year. If nothing else, Stephens should have more bodies. He expects 30 players out for practice, after only 18 last year. Baughman, who is being recruited by California and Oregon State, will lead an offense that will be directed by new coordinator Bill Holtz, who was at Golden West College. “He’s got the best arm I’ve seen on a high school kid in years,” Stephens said of Baughman, who will also punt and kick. Stephens said Baughman won’t be afraid to put the ball in the air. “He averaged 25 passes last year,” Stephens said. “He likes to throw.” But can Baughman stay on his feet? That will be up to a line that returns only two starters, Lemon and Gomez.
