West L.A. 24, Ventura 7--Ventura (0-4, 0-3) scored its first points of the season on a halfback option pass from David Andrade to Robert Gambala covering 40 yards in the fourth quarter at West L.A.
However, West L.A.’s Keyshawn Johnson, a sophomore wide receiver, caught four passes for 79 yards, including touchdowns of 29 and 40 yards from Damon Williams, who completed six of 20 for 97 yards.
West L.A. (2-2, 2-1) was led in rushing by Michael Black, who gained 109 yards in eight carries, including a 71-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
