Blacks and other minorities are needed as potential marrow donors for an 8-year-old boy who has leukemia.
Blood tests, to determine a donor match, will be offered to the public from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Anaheim.
The marrow is needed for Cleavon Jones, an 8-year-old African-American of Oceanside, who has been at Children’s Hospital of Orange County since May.
The boy suffers from acute non-lymphocytic leukemia.
The tests are being coordinated by the Orange County Chapter of Kaiser Permanente’s African-American Assn.
The medical center is at 441 Lakeview Ave., near the Riverside Freeway.
