3 Students Attend National Conference

Three San Fernando Valley students were among 350 chosen from a nationwide pool to attend the National Young Leaders Conference this week in Washington.
Sangeeta Chandra of Northridge is attending the six-day conference, which started Tuesday. Janelle Lunasin of Reseda and Todd Anton of Northridge were also chosen.
The conference is a leadership development program for outstanding high school students who have demonstrated leadership potential and scholastic merit.
Chandra, 16, is a senior at Louisville High School in Woodland Hills and a member of the National Honor Society and the school’s tennis team.
Anton, 16, is a junior at Los Angeles Lutheran High School in Sylmar, plays on the football team and in the band, and is a member of the National Honor Society.
Lunasin is a 16-year-old high school senior.
The theme of the conference is “The Leaders of Tomorrow Meeting the Leaders of Today.” The students will visit a foreign embassy, the National Press Club, and meet with lawmakers and State Department officials.
