A 19-year-old college student was rescued by Ventura County sheriff’s deputies Saturday after falling 30 feet from a cliff while hiking north of Santa Paula.
Michael Stephens was not injured in the fall, but found himself trapped on a cliff ledge after falling about 2:30 p.m., authorities said.
He had been hiking near California 150 and the Thomas Aquinas College campus, where he is a student, according to sheriff’s officials.
A sheriff’s search and rescue team reached Stephens and secured and lowered him to the base of the cliff unharmed, officials said.
