Irvine Sensors Contract

Irvine Sensors Corp. said Thursday it had won a $780,000 contract from the U.S. Air Force to build a new set of electronic devices that could make an aircraft more difficult to detect.
The Costa Mesa firm said it will use its proprietary sensor technology to develop the equipment, which would be embedded in an aircraft’s outer layers. The sensors also could be used to detect any fires on board as well as enemy threats.
