BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : CLU Warms Up in Second Half, Remains Perfect With 90-63 Win

Cal Lutheran turned an 11-point game into a blowout by shooting 66% after the intermission to fuel a 90-63 victory over Whittier on Wednesday night in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game.
Forward Derrick Clark, who was 11 of 14 from the field, scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help keep the host Kingsmen (14-0, 3-0) perfect.
Cal Lutheran was 23 of 35 from the field in a 54-point second half after shooting just 42% in the first.
Antelope Valley 90, Victor Valley 83--Antelope Valley’s Orville Turner, who also took 11 rebounds, scored 23 of his 34 points in the second half to lead the visiting Marauders (12-9, 5-2) in the Foothill Conference game.
BOYS
San Marcos 79, Ventura 68--John-Ryan Kern led the losing Cougars (6-10, 2-4) with 22 points in the Channel League game. Paul Lozano added 16 points for Ventura.
Oxnard 55, Rio Mesa 53--Steve Vaca and Chris Johnson each hit a pair of free throws in overtime to seal the victory for the Yellowjackets in a Channel League game. Vaca led Oxnard (6-10, 2-4) with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Johnson and Jewels Eubanks each added 13 points.
Oak Park 73, St. Bonaventure 55--Shawn Williams scored 25 points and Brandon Creason added 20 to lead the Eagles (14-2, 3-0) in a Tri-Valley league game.
GIRLS
Newbury Park 47, Camarillo 38--The Panthers (13-4, 4-2) increased a seven-point halftime lead to 19 in the third quarter, then coasted in the Marmonte League game at Camarillo.
