Wetlands Tours--Guided public tours of the Bolsa Chica wetlands will be held Saturday morning. The tours, sponsored by Amigos de Bolsa Chica, will depart from the wetlands ecological reserve every 20 minutes beginning at 9 a.m. The last tour will depart at 10:30 a.m.
Bolsa Chica is one of the best sites in the county for bird-watching. Birds likely to be seen on the tours include egrets, loons, herons, grebes and other waterfowl.
Those who would like to take the tour are asked to meet at the ecological reserve’s parking lot on Pacific Coast Highway about one-half of a mile south of Warner Avenue, across from Bolsa Chica State Beach Tide-Pool Program--The Orange County Marine Institute will present a winter tide-pool program for children ages 4 to 12 on Feb. 6.
The program will be from noon to 2 p.m. The cost is $2 to $3.
The institute is at 24200 Dana Point Harbor Drive, Dana Point.
