Ship With 27 Aboard Missing Off Ireland

LONDON — A bulk carrier with 27 crew members on board was missing and feared sunk in a hurricane-force gale in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Ireland, coast guards said Thursday.
Helicopters and search planes were scrambled when the ship, the Maltese-registered Christinaki, sent distress signals saying its hatches had burst and water was pouring in.
