Murdoch Agrees to Sell Boston Paper: Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. has reached an agreement to sell the Boston Herald to the newspaper’s publisher, Patrick J. Purcell. News Corp. said it is selling the tabloid in order to exercise an option it has to buy TV station WFXT-TV in Boston. Federal regulations prohibit the ownership of TV stations and newspapers in the same market. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
